As a result of continued growth over the past 12-18 months, RTU as well as being the number one manufacturer of factory produced mortar, is now also one of the top three suppliers of concrete to the Northern Ireland construction industry.
In order to keep up with increased orders and increased demand in production and delivery, the company has invested heavily in additional fleet over the past year.
The first addition in 2016, the concrete conveyor lorry, has been a welcome and much requested service. The conveyor lorry assists in placing concrete into difficult to reach areas on site. The concrete is dispatched along a conveyor arm which has an 11 metre line of sight reach from the back of the lorry. This means concrete can easily be placed directly into foundations, subfloors, slurry pits, silos, shuttered walls or formwork. This in turn saves time as it minimises manual handling and labour requirements on site. There is also no need for additional hired equipment such as concrete pumps, skips or dumpers.
Since January 2017, RTU has added 6 new lorries to the fleet: 4 x Volvo Fm410 8x4 32T mixers, 1x DAF CF440 8x4 32T Tipper and 1 xDAF CF360 6x4 26T Mixer, which has greatly increased our delivery capacity. In addition, our new Manitou MT932 Telescopic Handler has provided extra lifting capacity and therefore increased operational efficiencies on site at our Newtownabbey plant.
All of these fleet additions have been made in order to improve our level of customer service to our clients, so orders are delivered on time, every time.
RTU is a visionary company with a firm plan to further develop the business throughout the UK and Ireland, and there are sure to be more additions to our ever-growing fleet in the near future.
