Maintenance / Plant Engineer

Your Role:

As a Maintenance / Plant Engineer, you will ensure that our production equipment and fleet are operating at peak performance. From carrying out preventative maintenance to troubleshooting mechanical issues, your expertise will minimize downtime and keep our operation running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute corrective, planned, and preventative maintenance on production plant equipment to reduce downtime.
  • Perform predictive maintenance tasks and provide detailed reports on findings.
  • Maintain, implement, and improve maintenance schedules for all equipment.
  • Ensure all plant and machinery meets operational and legislative safety standards.
  • Manage repairs on the transport fleet and conduct scheduled 7-weekly vehicle safety checks.
  • Order parts for both plant and vehicles as needed.
  • Coordinate with and manage on-site contractors to ensure compliance with Health & Safety and environmental regulations.
  • Keep the work environment organized, tidy, and secure.
  • Provide regular updates and insights to management to assist in decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate files and administration in line with company processes.
  • Ensure the seamless operation of the maintenance department.

Who We’re Looking For:

We’re seeking someone who thrives on responsibility, enjoys hands-on tasks, and is proactive in solving technical challenges. If you love working with equipment, have a strong mechanical background, and are a problem solver, you’ll fit right in!

Key Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in plant maintenance, ideally in a heavy industry or engineering setting.
  • A hands-on approach to troubleshooting and mechanical tasks, with welding experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical downtime issues effectively.
  • Strong experience with a variety of production plant equipment.
  • Expertise in planning, scheduling, and recording maintenance tasks.
  • Experience with electrical diagnostics and installations is a plus.
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to respond to evolving business needs.
  • A collaborative mindset, ready to take on a range of professional, organizational, and administrative duties within the maintenance department.
